Computer Lab
Our computer room is well furnished. There are two computer teachers and 35 computers in our Lab which includes latest computers. Personal attention is given to each student during practical. Every student is allowed to work on computer freely under the guidance of the concerned teacher. Children are given proper information about Ms-Office, Html, Photo Editing, Video Editing and some basic Hardware training. Lower class children are allowed to draw drawings on computer so that there interest can be created in computers and to increase their knowledge. Wi-fi Multimedia Computer lab with TFT monitors. Internet facility. Proper time and guidance given for making projects. C.D. Drives available on computer. Backup facility is available in case of power failure. Laser printer, ink-jet printer are installed in the lab. Scanning facilities.
Math Lab
A lab with models and projects based on mathematical concepts to promote activity-based learning in mathematics and to stress upon ‘learning by doing’.It creates an environment for student-centric exploration(learning by doing). It is all about learning, verifying and visualizing mathematical concepts in a ‘fun’ way. It inculcates learning through ‘Applied Reasoning’. This learner centered approach to Maths helps every child’s imagine, investigate and interact effectively. The multiple teaching and learning aids comprise technology applications, videos, manipulative and measuring instruments, tables, charts and so much more.
Science Lab
We are having two labs:-CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY. Here everything is provided related to syllabus. Our labs are well equipped. Labs are having projector,electronic microscope and different chemicals,specimens and scientific models. It is all about learning,verifying and visualizing all scientific concepts.
Smart Classes
A “Class” is the interesting part of the schooling system anywhere in the world. This traditional institution has been revamped into “SMART CLASSES”. Sophia has become one of the first school in the region to start educating the students through Smart Classes. Projectors have been installed in various classes. A software company has been hired to train the teachers and facilitates the usage of the Smart Classes. Each subject of the each class is enlisted in the content. Teachers teach the student with the help of the audio visual modules for various topics in the curriculum. So these classes have made teaching and learning experience an effective, easy and interesting one.
Music And Dance
A well equipped and spacious music room with all types of instruments like keyboard, tabla, harmonium, guitar and also a dance room in which all types of dance like Indian classical,western and folk dance are taught.Through this training in dance and music students have been able to polish and put forth their hidden talents. They also take interest in learning all these skills.These activities help them to be in calm and relaxed mood.
Library
More than 7,000 books related to all the subjects are available in the library. Nearly 50% of the books constitute physics,chemistry,biology and mathematics books for class 8th and above. Others constitute encyclopedia, autobiographies, fiction novels, story books, archies and tinkle. Lending facility available to all the students. A student can issue a book for 7 days. Projector facility is also available to show documentaries.
